**ETSY STORE ANNOUNCEMENT** — Before I begin this post I just wanted to inform you that all original canvases and art prints in my Etsy store are currently 20% off and will remain so until mid August! You don’t need a coupon code or anything…all of the prices are adjusted for 20%.
On a more serious note…
I, being a fickle human being, have taken some time off of painting and sharing with you. As you may have understood from my last post, I talked myself out of painting because I just wasn’t trusting God to glorify himself — I was instead feeling guilty for pursuing something that may or may not be in God’s will for me. But I was wholly limiting God and instead looking to myself to do something worthy. I was ultimately not believing the Gospel, that Jesus provided me an unconditional salvation and it is through His work that I am saved, not my work. So whether my art is exactly as he would have it all the time or if I have sinned along the way, Jesus has still redeemed me from my sin and I am still promised eternal life with God. I am freed by that truth. I don’t have to be burdened by guilt because I am redeemed unconditionally.
“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:28 — not even I can snatch myself from His hand!
I needed to admit these things to you because I thought you may be comforted by the comfort I have received from God and a precious friend. I also hope to encourage you to not focus on what you are doing wrong but to lift your eyes to eternal things and see life in light of the gospel that saves you.
Now, on to a bit of a lighter topic…phew…
You may have noticed these candles in my post in early May about the art show I was a part of. Yes, I make candles and yes, they will be coming to my Etsy store just in time for Fall. I am currently in a process of trial and error, trying to get them just how I like them before I list them for you to purchase.
I feel strongly about providing a quality product that is both healthy and sustainable. So, these candles are hand poured into recycled glass bottles that I have cut and sanded myself. I will have both 100% pure beeswax and soy candles that are scented with essential oils. I won’t be using fragrance oils. I have read many articles about how burning beeswax candles cleans the air rather than pollutes it. I’m not going to link any articles because I haven’t found a link that I am totally confident in enough to send you there. I’ll have to do more research and link it later. I don’t want to mislead you. However, I am really excited to provide you with a quality product that is also affordable (still working on that one).
Adopte and Rachetees are the French words for adopted and redeemed. I decided to use those words one, because they are very significant to me and two, because, cheesily, these glass bottles have been “adopted” into my possession and “redeemed” for an alternative use rather than being thrown away. Still working on the branding…
Click here for a brilliant Josh Garrels song for you to enjoy on your Sunday evening or Monday morning…maybe even all week. Read the lyrics in the down bar. You will be happy you did!
Have any of you used beeswax candles before? How have you liked them? Or if you haven’t, why haven’t you? Have any comments on my candles? I’d love to hear your comments good or bad!
Much love to all of you today!
